Goods in Transit Insurance

What is Goods in Transit Insurance?

Goods in transit insurance is a type of insurance usually associated to a commercial vehicle that covers the goods being transported by your business.

It’s not a legal requirement, but goods in transit insurance can offer the peace of mind to protect the value of the goods your business transports, depending on your policy type. Plus, if you’re transporting goods for a customer or third-party subcontractor, it may be a contractual obligation for you to have it.

Goods in transit insurance only covers the contents of your vehicle, not the vehicle itself.

You will need motor insurance to cover your vehicle against third party liability, theft, and damage. By law, you must have third party insurance at the very least.
