If you have third party fire and theft cover or third party only cover, you won’t be able to claim for windscreen damage under your main policy. You can purchase a separate add-on policy to cover you for this. You will only be covered for damage which occurs after you have purchased the cover and won’t be able to claim for pre-existing damage.
