What is Courier Insurance?
It’s a type of commercial vehicle insurance that protects you from the risks involved in delivering other peoples’ goods for payment.
The minimum level of motor insurance cover needed by law is third party only (TPO). However, you can increase this level of cover if you want greater peace of mind:
This includes everything you get with Third Party Fire and Theft, with added protection for your own vehicle if you’re involved in a collision that’s your fault.
The same as Third Party Only, but with cover for your work van if it’s stolen or damaged by fire.
This covers any damage you cause to other people and their property. It doesn’t cover repairs to your own vehicle.
Courier Insurance optional extras
Some insurance providers include items as standard, while others will add them as optional extras. We’ll do all the hard work for you: finding you the right cover at the right price. We’ll also make sure that you’re not paying for cover you don’t need.
Some of the additional policies we can arrange for you, include*:
Employers’ Liability Cover
If you employ anyone with your courier business, you’ll need employers’ liability insurance. It’s a legal requirement, even if your employee is just a friend helping on a temporary or casual basis.
Goods in Transit Cover
If the items you’re delivering are lost, damaged, or stolen while in your possession, you’re potentially liable.
*Limitations and exclusions apply to all these add-ons.
